Morning Musume – Kimagure Princess Ranking

Morning Musume debuted on the Oricon with Kimagure Princess in 3rd with 16,666sales, compared to Nanchatte Renai’s sales of 23,201 on its first day.

I’m somewhat disappointed since the sales are really low, but on the bright side I’m glad to see that Momusu debuted in 3rd place, it’s not exactly the highest place but compared to the competition this week they are doing well.

2nd Day

There was a slight drop in positions and Morning Musume fell to 5th place, AKB is placing higher than them and they are in their second week so it might be hard to stay in the top 5 this week, but hopefully they can do it.

The strange thing about the ranking is that if you click on Morning Musume’s link on the ranking pages it takes you to THIS page for the Limited A version of the single. I checked the other links too and they also list the Limited versions of their singles (at least for Uverworld and KinKi Kids), so it might be that they are only counting the limited versions, or they might have some slight linking or title problems.

Nonetheless I hope Morning Musume can get in a higher position tomorrow.

3rd Day

Morning Musume rose to 4th position today! It’s great to see that they are still in the top 5, since AKB48, despite record breaking sales for the last week, dropped down from 4th to 11th place. Placing constantly in the top 5 despite going against some big names such as KinKi Kids and UVERWorld is an accomplishment on its own, so let’s hope they keep it up, good luck Momusu!

4th Day

4th place on the Oricon for today as well. The sales numbers for all of the artists have also dropped so I would guess that if Morning Musume keeps themselves in the top five they will sell more than Mikan and they will still keep their “Top Five” streak since Mikan as well.

There are still chances that tomorrow they will rise to the top three so let’s hope that happens, but so far they are selling consistently which is great news.

5th Day

Big drop to 7th place today, right now they are probably looking at a 4th or 5th place, but staying in the top 5 depends on them getting a higher position tomorrow so hopefully that happens.

The total for the first 4 days (not including today) is about 30,000 according to THIS page (so it isn’t confirmed), which means that they have probably sold more than Mikan now, so it won’t be among their lowest ranking singles (if they don’t sell more than 36,000 it will be their second worst selling single though).

6th Day

Morning Musume rose from 7th place to 2nd place for today! That is a great improvement, especially when they are about 1000 copies ahead of 3rd place. The total sales are around 36,000 or 35,000, and with the big rise in sales we are can expect to see them in the top 5 or the top ten for a while.
